On just my third day of working for Naturally L&A, I got to spend the day with several local business owners as we explored seven different tourism locations. This was a fun and interactive way for us all to get to know Lennox & Addington a little bit better.

We learned about different tourism-focused businesses and attractions around L&A, which equipped us to better serve visitors and provide them with the best information possible. The hands-on tour makes it easier for business owners to refer visitors that are asking about fun places to visit within the county.

I had such an amazing time, and wanted to share some of the things I learned along the way!

The Museum of Lennox and Addington

97 Thomas St E, Napanee

There are so many interesting things within the Museum of Lennox & Addington that pertain to its vast history. With its ever-adapting exhibits, there is always something new to learn. This museum has history from an abundance of genres and interests, so come visit and see what they have for you!

The Lemon Tart Bed and Breakfast

109 Thomas St E, Napanee

Steps away from the museum, there is the charming Lemon Tart Bed and Breakfast. It is filled with bright colours and wrapped in a cozy atmosphere. Not only is the B&B itself great, but so is the location as it’s minutes away from Napanee’s stores, trails, and restaurants. If you’re looking to book a room, you can book through Airbnb!

Lavender Queen Lavender Farm

3981 County Rd 1, Yarker

Although they are not open to the public until June 22nd, Lavender Queen Lavender Farm is a place you should add to your ‘must visit’ list. They offer rows of homegrown lavender, lavender products for purchase, and a venue for weddings. I’m super excited to visit again when they open for the season! Also be sure to look for their upcoming events!

Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast

405 Mud Lake Rd N, Odessa

If you have an appreciation for detail, Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay. I was mesmerized by the three different rooms they offer as they all have their own distinct personalities. When I saw the Rose Room, I had to take a second to admire every detail. The location is an ideal spot if you plan on travelling around the area as it’s such a central location.

Second Chance Ranch

6038 County Rd 2, Odessa

I am obsessed with farm animals so Second Chance Ranch was the highlight of my day. The animals at this ranch have either been saved from bad situations or needed to be rehomed. You can tell the ranch truly cares about the animals they rehabilitate just by hearing the way the owners talk about them. Not only is this a fun place to visit, but it’s also an admirable cause!

Oliver Farms

Oliver Side Road, Napanee

For lunch, we stopped at Oliver Farms where we ate sandwiches, salad, and dessert. I had a delicious butter tart. You can trust me when I say the tart was good because I’m quite the tart connoisseur. The owners are such lovely people who truly care about this farm and what they can offer to the community. If you’re hosting an event, definitely consider Oliver Farm!

Napanee River Tours

22 Water St, Napanee

To finish off such an exciting day, we hopped aboard The Norman Paul and enjoyed a Napanee River Tour. The boat was so peaceful and had ample spots to sit and look out to the water. The boat is licensed, and if you want appetizers onboard, you can order when purchasing your tickets. For a full meal you can visit The Waterfront River Pub & Terrace and enjoy it inside or out on the patio. This boat ride was amazing, and I would highly recommend spending an afternoon/evening here.

After my day of exploring, I was exhausted, but even more excited to have gotten to know some of the great tourism destinations available here in Lennox & Addington. Each place has its own charm and individuality. Thank you to all of the business owners who showed us around, and to everyone who came along for the ride! We encourage you to check them out. Head over to our website to learn more.
