By Saige Traise, Naturally L&A — Hello Lennox & Addington residents and visitors! I’m Saige Traise, Naturally L&A’s Summer Student for 2023. My official title is Tourism Development Officer and I’m excited to explore our beautiful county and, more importantly, tell you all about it.
As a longtime resident of Bath and recent graduate of Ernestown Secondary School, I am extremely familiar with the area and am thrilled at the chance to share its wonders with all of you this summer. With a deep-rooted passion for travel and exploring new destinations, pursuing a career in the tourism industry was a natural choice for me.
Before transitioning to this position, I worked with the County of L&A Libraries for four years as a library page at the Napanee Branch. Although it was difficult to leave that role, I’m grateful for the support and excitement from everyone around me, as they recognize the incredible potential and opportunities that await me in my new position.
This fall, I will be attending the University of Guelph, where I’ll be enrolled in their commerce degree program, with a major in Hospitality and Tourism Management. In joining this student opportunity I am able to not only gain valuable experience, but can also still enjoy the outdoors and all of the unique experiences this season has to offer.
Make sure to keep an eye out for the reels, blogs, and more that I’ll be using to tell my story in the upcoming months. Some key local spots that I’m looking forward to visiting include Bon Echo, the various community markets, and the newest addition to my hometown’s restaurant scene, Beachside BBQ! I may also see you at our community events, including our famous cycling, geocaching, and dark sky extravaganzas.
I look forward to the chance of meeting you throughout the summer. Even if we don’t cross paths, rest assured that we have some fantastic adventures planned along the way. So, stay tuned and make the most of every opportunity that Lennox and Addington has to offer this summer!
