With over 690,000 views in 2025, our Naturally L&A website has become a go-to resource for both locals and travellers that are planning a trip to Lennox & Addington.
It showcases pretty much anything and everything you can see and do here (if we’re missing anything PLEASE let us know), highlighting lodging providers, area attractions, dining options and shopping experiences. We do our best to keep the content fresh, and are always tweaking the site to ensure it’s as user-friendly as possible.
Long story short, we believe our website is a great tool for planning a day trip, a weekend excursion or an extended holiday. We hope you agree.
While we have developed several popular themed itineraries for the website, we sometimes receive enquiries from potential visitors looking for a little extra ‘hand holding’ as they hammer out their travel plans. We’re more than happy to oblige.

Q: Hi. My partner and I just booked a 2-night stay at an Airbnb near Tamworth in July and we’re looking for some nature-inspired places to visit while we’re there. Any suggestions? — Alison from Toronto.
A: Hi Alison from Toronto! We’re very excited to hear that you’ll be visiting us here in Lennox & Addington this summer. Tamworth is a great little community and we know you’ll love your visit. I’d be happy to help you plan your trip. There are many amazing nature-inspired locations to explore. I’ve also added in some suggestions on where you can grab a bite to eat as I’m sure you’ll build up an appetite while you’re out adventuring.
Sheffield Conservation Area
Sheffield Conservation Area is located at 8032 County Road 41 in Erinsville. It offers a very scenic 4.5 km looped trail. Note that there is some challenging terrain best suited for the avid hiker. Along the trail you’ll see spectacular granite outcroppings, deciduous forests and extensive wetlands. Songbirds, waterfowl, reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals like beaver and muskrat are common here. Ontario’s only lizard, the five-lined skink, is also a resident.
Other hiking/nature locations within a 20-minute drive of Tamworth include Camden Lake Provincial Wildlife Area, Menzel Centennial Provincial Nature Reserve and Puzzle Lake Provincial Park. You can view a list of all our nature trails here.
Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area
Located just south of Sheffield Conservation Area, the L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area is the most southerly dark sky site in Ontario. It is visited by thousands of visitors every year, and is particularly popular with people living in urban areas where light pollution washes out the view of the stars. While general stargazing is a fun experience, check the website to see there’s an event happening while you’re here. They organize laser-guided stargazing tours, astrophotography gatherings and moon events from Spring to Fall. It’s a really cool spot and a must-visit location in my opinion.
Cycling Adventures in Lennox & Addington
Whether you like paved road, gravel back roads, rail trails or forest trails, you’re never far from a 2-wheeled adventure in Lennox & Addington. There are several self-guided paved routes near Tamworth, including The Camden Route (63km), The Sheffield Route (79km), The Salmon River Route (54km) and the White Lake Route (24km). If you’d rather go gravel riding, we suggest checking out our Naturally L&A Backroad Rides. The Hamlet Loop (51km), The Lakeview Loop (37km) and the Dark Sky Loop (47km) each offer a mix of paved road and long gravel stretches. The Dark Sky loop also travels along a part of the Trans Canada Trail. All our backroad rides can be searched here.
If mountain biking is more your thing, the L&A Forest Trails are located about 25 minutes north of Tamworth in Flinton. There are 10km of single and double track trails in the forest, with some built structures to add to the fun.
Dip a Paddle
If you have a canoe, kayak or SUP, bring it along with you to Tamworth and explore a nearby lake or river. There are many places to launch near Tamworth, including Beaver Lake, Little Mellon Lake, Big Mellon Lake, Puzzle Lake and the Salmon River.

Have a Farm Adventure
Learn about the bees at The Bee Spot in Tamworth! This apiary not only produces delicious honey products, they also offer guided tours of their hives! Visitors get dressed up in beekeeping gear and guides take you through the entire honey producing process.
There’s also lots of farm fun to be had at Barking Goat Farms. Located just a few minutes south of Tamworth near Centreville, visitors receive an informative tour of this wonderful farm. You’ll learn all about the goats, donkeys mini-mules, mini-horses and chickens. It’s fun for all ages.

Dine & Shop in the Tamworth Area
You’ll definitely build up an appetite while exploring the great outdoors. There are a number of amazing places to eat in the Tamworth area. Check out The Blue Door Bakery & Café, A-One Corner Restaurant, S’Cooper’s Spot and The Lakeview Restaurant. If you plan to cook your own meal, Stone Mills Family Market is located in the community. They have everything you need to chef up something special.

There are also some pretty unique shopping experiences in Tamworth too. Take some time to explore the shelves at Tamworth Book Shop and The Bookshop Annex. They have 20,000 used books to choose from, with many rare finds! The Quartermaster’s Store is also in Tamworth, and offers a variety of  items, some produced in-house and others curated from local artisans and producers. We also encourage you to check out Matthews Studio, where Gary Matthews carefully crafts his highly sought-after wooden bowls in his workshop. The Soap Shack is another cool spot to visit. They offer a wide variety of vegan and goat milk soaps, as well as an assortment of candles, bath bombs, creams, body lotions, laundry detergent and more!
