After another exciting summer exploring Lennox & Addington, it’s once again time for me to sign off. But obviously, I couldn’t leave without one more blog!
Every place in L&A has something unique to offer, and after spending the summer exploring the region, I can now confidently recommend places to visit for all kinds of visitors. For this blog, though, I wanted to share my personal top 10 places in L&A that I would recommend to visitors who are like me!
This was a very difficult list to make because I’ve loved every place I’ve had the chance to visit. With outdoor adventures, shopping, history, and, of course, delicious food, there are so many places that I love in L&A.
My summer of exploring L&A has also been a little different this year. In March, I was diagnosed with celiac disease, which, as a lover of baked goods and bread, was detrimental. Thankfully, I was able to find some great places that offer gluten free options, while taking steps to reduce the risk of cross contamination!
So, if you love shopping, exploring the outdoors, discovering local history, and enjoying delicious meals and treats, hopefully this list will serve you well!
Without further ado, here are my top 10 favourite places to visit in L&A!
Meet the Animals at Barking Goat Farms
13 McGill Road, Centreville
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting multiple farms throughout this summer and enjoyed every visit. One that stood out in particular was Barking Goat Farms. Not only do they offer an interactive experience with the goats, donkeys and barn cats, but they also have 2 beautiful cabins so you can expend your visit!

Take a Hike at Menzel Centennial Provincial Nature Reserve
Roblin Road, Roblin
A hike at Menzel Centennial Provincial Nature Reserve offers a wide variety of terrain, keeping the adventure exciting all the way to the beautiful lake at the end. Grab a trail guide and learn about the unique wildlife as you go!

Cool Off at Lions Beaver Lake Park
5771 County Road 41, Erinsville
This summer has been a hot one. My favourite place to cool down after a busy day of exploring is at Lions’ Beaver Lake Park. Hang out in the shade, swim in the beautiful water, and grab a bite to eat at The Lakeview Tavern & Restuarant.

Browse For Books at The Book Shop
2-10 County Road 4, Tamworth
One of my favourite activities is to read, and the Book Shop in Tamworth is where I always find my next read. The owners carefully select each book for their collection and have accumulated over 20,000 books spanning dozens of genres. Spend an afternoon browsing their collection and find a book (or many) that fits your interest.

Find Your Next Outfit at Joyful Closet
113 Richmond Blvd, Napanee
Stepping into Joyful Closet, something always catches my eye. Explore the racks of gorgeous and interesting shirts, pants, and more. You can try on the clothes and see what suits you best. Visit this beautiful boutique and find your next outfit!

Spend a Day at Wynn Farms
8191 Loyalist Parkway, Conway
Wynn Farms really does it all. From strawberries, to flowers, to apples, pumpkins, and a themed corn maze, there is always an adventure to be had here! Be sure to try some of the delicious seasonal treats before you leave the farms.

Stop for a Coffee at The Lodge Coffee House
368 Main Street, Bath
One of my favourite places to grab a specialty coffee is The Lodge Coffee House in Bath! Cassandra and her team craft the tastiest seasonal drinks and offer wonderful baked goods. Every time I visit, I make sure to grab one of the delicious gluten-free Nanaimo bars!

Grab a Bite at 41 Fries 41 Scoops
12428 Highway 41, Northbrook
In my opinion, the best way to end a summer day is with a food truck meal. Every time I’m in Addington Highlands, I love grabbing a meal from is 41 Fries 41 Scoops. As someone who almost exclusively orders poutine wherever I go, I can tell you that it is incredible (and gluten-free!). They also have a wide selection of other delicious items, and ice cream for dessert!

Take a Step Back in Time at Fairfield-Gutzeit House
341 Main Street, Bath
L&A is home to many historical sites, highlighting its unique past. One of my favourite historic places to visit is the Fairfield-Gutzeit House. Step into the past through the authentically preserved rooms and get a sense of how life was lived in this region almost 100 years ago.

Get Out on the Water at Deerock Lake Conservation Area
390 Deer Rock Lake Road, Flinton
One of the most scenic and peaceful paddling experiences I have had is at Deerock Lake Conservation Area. Hop aboard at the easy-to-use boat launch, explore the different islands, and take in the views.
