There’s no shortage of things to see and do at the Museum of Lennox & Addington this March Break. And truthfully, that’s the case all year long at this wonderful community gem.
Jeremy, Alannah, Liz, JoAnne and Heather proudly call themselves “Museum Nerds”… their words, not mine. They even had the T-shirts made to prove it. Their passion for history is contagious, and it shows in everything they do. This welcoming team works tirelessly to keep the museum buzzing twelve months a year with engaging programs, special events, and thoughtfully curated exhibits.
From hands-on activities and educational programming to new informative exhibits, there’s always something fresh to discover. Take a look at what the Museum has coming up for visitors in March. It’s genuinely impressive and well worth exploring.
March Break Programming
Create, imagine, and explore at the Museum! Our March Break CREATE programming invites kids and families to dive into hands-on experiences that spark creativity through art, music, storytelling, movement, and more! Below is a list of activities:
- Monday, March 16th @11AM: Create Stories – The Big History Mystery with the Paddling Puppeteers | $5/person, under age 5 FREE
- Tuesday, March 17th @ 11AM: Create Music – Sing and Dance with Kingston Frontenac Music Together | $5/person, under age 5 FREE
- Wednesday, March 18th @ 11AM: Create Art – Nature Art Workshop | $5/person, under age 5 FREE
- Thursday, March 19th @2PM: Create Movement – Yoga Poses with Pups | $5/person, under age 5 FREE
- Friday, March 20th, 10:30AM – 2:30PM (Drop-In): Create Connections: Make your own Clay Magnets with Lichen Fairytales | FREE, while supplies last
- Saturday, March 21st, 10:30AM – 3:30PM (Drop-In): Create Structures: Build Quest! | $5/person, under age 5 FREE

One of my favourite aspects of this museum is that it’s never static. The exhibits change regularly, keeping things fresh and encouraging repeat visits. Every time you enter and wander the halls, it’s a new experience. Below is a brief rundown of a few of the newer displays currently available.
Caught My Eye
Photographer Jim Peets invites you to join him on his travels and dive into his joy for life as revealed in each one of his photographs. This special exhibit documents Jim’s love for travel, people, nature, and community. You just never know what catches Jim’s eye!
The photographs on display are from digital images. They may be from indoors or outdoors, in daylight or after dark. The shutter was released between 2014 and 2023 at Napanee, Belleville, Kingston, Ottawa, Georgian Bay, Quebec, Yukon, Korea, Arizona, and Nevada. The photographs may be abstract or realistic or somewhere in between.

The 8th Annual GNAAA Juried Show: Uncharted Territory
The 8th Annual GNAAA Juried Show: Canada – From Sea to Sea, will be on display at the Museum of Lennox and Addington from February 28th through to March 28th, 2026.
Canada – From Sea to Sea encourages artists to draw inspiration from the landscape, people, culture, history, or personal experiences in their work.

1976 – Celebrating 50 Years!
The Museum is celebrating all year long with a special exhibition dedicated to 1976- the year the museum officially opened its doors in Napanee.
This vibrant exhibit features fashion, home décor, photographs, artwork, newspaper headlines, and community stories that capture the spirit of the mid-1970s. Visitors can rediscover the bold styles, cultural moments, and everyday experiences that defined the era. Interpretive panels explore both the local story and the broader Canadian context of the 1970s—an era shaped by cultural nationalism, economic challenges, and social activism. Guests are invited to reflect on how these national trends were experienced here at home.
This exhibition celebrates not only fifty years of the museum, but also the people, stories, and objects that continue to shape our shared history. On display until January 2027.
