No matter where you find yourself in L&A, you are guaranteed to find a trail or nature park close by. Explore this beautiful area this winter by foot, on skis or snowshoes, or even by fat bike; you won’t be disappointed.
This year-round recreation trail is one of the most popular in the area for hiking, cycling, birding, and more.
Take a winter hike, strap on the snow shoes or cross country skies and explore this wonderful 126 acre winter oasis. There are many kilomeres of ungroomed trails to enjoy.
The trail that ties Canada together can be explored in L&A.
Take a walk through this botanically rich area and enjoy the spectacular views.
This 117 hectare property boasts a variety of wooded areas, wetlands, and waterfront.
Rose Hill Nature Reserve is a beautiful and unique 358 acre property of forested landscape in Addington Highlands.
This area provides a 4.5 km looped trail that offers some challenging terrain for the avid hiker.
This fun farm has trails that have you wandering past the sugar shack, spotting barn yard animals and other wildlife.

Stargazing
Go back in time and see the night sky as it appeared over 100 years ago at the Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area! The clear unobstructed views away from light pollution will astound you. The parking lot is plowed and awaiting your visit!
Look up! You’re about to be astounded by the sheer beauty of the night sky in all its glory.
Follow the stars or make it easy on yourself and follow our directions to get to the viewing area.


Birding
I spy with my little eye over 350 bird species here! If you are an avid birder or you just want to get out and see some of these beauties, L&A is the place to go.
Our conservation areas make for the perfect sanctuary for our feathered friends.
Amherst Island is known internationally as an important site for large groups of wintering owls and raptors to gather.
