When I first moved to Napanee, I went on a walk through the Springside Park trail with my mom and sister. As we began our walk along the trail, we noticed a beautiful pallet with geese painted on it, and as we continued down the path, we found several more paintings on similar pallets. We were confused as to what these were until we scanned the QR code and learned more about these amazing art pieces!
You may have noticed these same works of art, which are all part of the ‘Pallet’able Community Art Project that was developed by Tim Nimigan to bring more creativity and beauty to the Town of Greater Napanee.
Over 30 local artists took wooden industrial pallets and created beautiful masterpieces that are now displayed across Greater Napanee for all to appreciate!
I had the privilege of finding a few throughout town, so I thought I’d share the route I took, with some extra treats along the way!
Start off the trip with an ice cream cone from Vital Scoops, located at 10 Dundas Street East. I always like to enjoy a cold, sweet treat when going for a walk in the summertime!
Head Northeast, towards Springside Park, which will be the next stop. Along the way, there’s a pallet titled “Moon’s Next Adventure” by Jessica Doner in front of Tim Horton’s. This is the first pallet of the day, and definitely one you won’t want to miss!
Continue your walk down to Springside Park, where there are many wonderful pallets by the skate park, in the parking lot, and on the trail.

While strolling down the Springside Park trail, there are three perfectly designed pallets. Each of them are unique and well worth admiring! My personal favourite pallet along the trail is “The Hay Bales” by Clifford Trott. I definitely suggest using the QR codes on the pallets to learn what the meaning is behind each piece!
Continue down the path to Conservation Park where you’ll find four more pallets! I love the “Ships n’ Sails, Heads n’ Tails” piece by Sherry Pringle. When admiring this one, be sure to check out both sides.
I recommend following the same path to find more at the Rotary Park splash pad and the Lennox & Addington Public Library. There are 3 wonderful pallets to be found in this area.
To end this adventure, head over the bridge to the Waterfront River Pub & Terrace to find 2 more pallets and a great dining experience! With a menu filled with amazing meal options, there’s something for everyone to enjoy after a nice walk.
