I’m a big fan of autumn. Seeing as we experienced mostly summerlike conditions into the first week of October this year – and no, I’m not complaining about that – it was refreshing to wake up to the crisp temperatures we’ve experienced over the past few days.
With the cooler weather finally arriving, it has significantly increased the speed in which the leaves are changing colour here in Lennox & Addington. I took the opportunity to explore the Greater Napanee section of the Loyalist Parkway on a sunny afternoon in search of some fall foliage and stoped in at some of the great small businesses located along the way.
Whether you’re looking to stock up on local products or just in search of a relaxing drive take a look at some of these great autumn destinations.

Spring Meadow Orchards
10143 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
Spring Meadow Orchards in Adolphustown has been an autumn destination for families across the region since 1969. With over 30,000 trees in their orchard, visitors can choose from from 26 different varieties, including Russets, Macintosh, Cortland, Honey Crisp, Tallman Sweets and many, many more. You name it, they’ve got it.
While you’re there, don’t forget to try their world famous apple cider donuts and check out their hearty list of farm fresh items available at the stand. There’s also a fun corn maze for the kids to enjoy.
Bergeron Estate Winery & Cider Company
9656 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
You’ll love the atmosphere almost as much as the food & drink at Bergeron Estate Winery & Cider Company in Adolphustown. Owner and sommelier David Bergeron’s wonderful property offers picturesque views of the vineyard and overlooks Adolphus Reach and Lake Ontario. Operating since 2007, this 10-acre vineyard uses their own grapes for their wines, and sources nearby orchards for their delicious Cole Point apple cider.
Also on site is Nonna’s Pizzeria, made with authentic Italian family recipes, crusts made from scratch and locally-grown toppings whenever possible. It’s a perfect lunch or dinner stop while exploring the parkway.
Loyalist Trading Company
8682 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
I mean, who wouldn’t want to feed goats on a roof. Stopping by to check out Loyalist Trading Company in Conway is a must do experience while out exploring southern Lennox & Addington.
In addition to having Nubian goats reside on the roof of their store, owners Dave & Sandy Cook offer a wide assortment of clothing, accessories, house-made preserves and custom gift baskets inside this friendly establishment. You’ll find local soaps, scented candles, retro & hand-made wooden toys, Ontario art and much more in-store.
Wynn Farms Apple Orchard
8191 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
Apples picking season is in full swing at Wynn Farms Apple Orchard in Conway. This fantastic orchard has been an annual tradition for so many people across the region for decades.
Stop by to pick-your-own delicious apples, available in many mouth-watering varieties. Pre-picked apples are also available. You can also purchase other farm fresh products, including a jug their delicious cider. Be sure to tour their fun and informative corn maze during your visit and stop by for a soon-to-be Jack-o-lantern in their huge pumpkin patch.
