Every paddling excursion is a new adventure! And, with dozens of lakes to explore in L&A, the adventures you can have are endless.

Grab your canoe or kayak and enjoy the long stretches on the Skootamatta, Napanee or Salmon River. Another great spot is in Bon Echo Provincial Park where canoeing portages and an extended canoe circuit are offered. With over 100 lakes and rivers to choose from, L&A is truly a paddling paradise.

There are a variety of kayaks and paddleboards available to rent, making The Napanee River more accessible than ever before. Anyone aged 18+ can rent with no restrictions and receives a watersport safety briefing and out-of-water lesson.

Napanee River: King Street to Mink’s Bridge

Note: Paddlers can continue east to Strathcona, Newburgh, Camden East, Yarker and beyond. Portages may be required.

Napanee River: Downtown Napanee to Unger Island

Approximate Distance (One Way): 10.7 km
Launching Point: Water Street Boat Launch, 22 Water Street,
Napanee

Note: Paddlers may continue this route west into the Bay of Quinte, Hay Bay, etc. Kayaks and paddleboards are available for this route from Riverbank Rentals – June to September. Business is located at the boat launch.

Salmon River: Roblin to Teskey Road

Approximate Distance (One Way): 6.9 km
Launching Point: Salmon River Boat Launch: 3145 County
Road 41, Roblin

Note: Paddlers can continue east to Croyden, Tamworth and beyond, eventually connecting with Beaver Lake Route (below). Portages required.

Beaver Lake: Erinsville to the Mouth of the Salmon River

Approximate Distance (One Way): 6.9 km
Launching Point: Lions Beaver Lake Park: 5771 County Road
41, Erinsville

Paddlers can continue east to Tamworth and beyond, eventually connecting with the Salmon River Route (above). Portages required.

Big Mellon Lake

Approximate Distance (One Way): 4.6 km
Launching Point: Dark Sky Viewing Area Boat Launch, 7980

Note: Vessels can be dropped off at the launch. Vehicles can park up the hill in larger lot.

Little Mellon Lake

Approximate Distance (Full Loop): 2.6 km

Deerock Lake
