OVERVIEW
The farm visits in Lennox & Addington run from Amherst Island to Greater Napanee, and these are working operations first. Visitors can hand-feed alpacas, walk sheep pastures, meet spring lambs, and explore farmyards where the animals are out and moving. Each farm is shaped by the people and animals that work the land year-round, and that is what makes the visits worth the drive.

Which farms near Napanee offer interactive animal experiences?
Hickory Lane Alpacas runs guided hand-feeding tours with 32 alpacas and other farm animals. Topsy Farms on Amherst Island welcomes visitors to the farmyard and bushland trails year-round, with spring lamb encounters in May and June.
Do I need to book in advance?
Hickory Lane Alpacas requires appointments booked ahead. Topsy Farms and other farms welcome visitors but recommend checking hours before travelling.
What is the best time of year to visit with children?
May and June for spring lambs at Topsy Farms, and late summer through fall for seasonal events at harvest farms along the Loyalist Parkway.
Are pets allowed at these farms?
Hickory Lane Alpacas does not permit outside pets due to resident animals. Policies vary at other farms, so check directly before visiting.

This permaculture farm is an ecological fruit growing research farm. They produce pasteurized cider as well as jams, jellies, apple sauce, apple butter and apple stroop (Dutch for syrup) as well as a variety of other products from the local farming community.
This small apiary offers pure and delicious honey as well as an array of artisan breads all produced on their hearthstone.
