Back to Nature
Step away from big-city noise and into nature trails, wildlife, lakes, and rivers for a genuine, unpaved outdoor getaway.

You can find a Back to Nature escape in Lennox & Addington by exploring unspoiled outdoor trails, bird watching, geocaching, and seasonal landscapes. This region offers understated travellers an authentic experience where you can hike 300kms of rugged forests or explore quiet lakes well away from the crowds found in major tourism hubs. It provides real, unhurried moments where nature remains largely unspoiled.
Lennox & Addington is one of the few places in southern Ontario where you can still experience the outdoors on its own terms. You do not need to drive six hours north to find it. The Dark Sky Viewing Area sits well beyond the reach of city light, where the night sky looks the way it did a century ago. The Sheffield Conservation Area climbs through high-elevation forests and along rugged ridges where granite breaks through the treeline. On the L&A Forest Trails, the air carries pine needles and the paths are unpaved. At Springside Park, you can hear the falls before you see them. This is a landscape where a family can introduce their kids to their first frog in the morning and an experienced hiker can walk for kilometres without seeing another person by afternoon. The trails, the forests, and the dark skies are all here. They just ask that you slow down enough to notice.
