The Bee Spot in Tamworth offers an immersive beekeeping experience within Stone Mills. Visitors aged 12 and older can suit up in protective gear for guided hive tours from June through September. This family-run apiary provides raw honey products and beekeeping equipment, making it a highlight for farm visits.
The Bee Spot is a family-run honey farm in Tamworth where the bees come first and the tours grew out of that. They hand you a suit, walk you up to a working hive, and let you stand close enough to watch the colony do its thing while they explain the biology of queen and worker bees beside you. The farm is part of the local Honey & Maple Syrup trade, stocking only raw, natural hive products in the farm-gate store. They also carry everything you would need to start keeping bees yourself, right down to live queen bees.
What to Expect
You suit up, walk to the hives, and stand close enough to hear them. The farm-gate store sells raw honey, beeswax, and beekeeping supplies. The flower fields on the property are worth a few minutes before or after the tour.
