Artist Bio:
Former Radio Broadcaster and Freelance Columnist, Lisa Ray’s career has taken many paths… from working on cruise ships to being stranded at sea to finding herself behind the microphone at various radio stations, to writing a bi-weekly column called “Fifty Shades of Ray” sharing stories of her daily life. Lisa Ray has become a phoenix rising again and again, transforming herself as she continues to strive and learn. Having no formal training in painting, yet having been introduced to the Paint Pouring style through friends she was immediately inspired. Then in the midst of a pandemic and with time on her hands (and spending more moments with her cats) she was looking for a creative distraction, and found herself putting paint to canvas. Lisa Ray’s creative journey has taken her to experiment with many varied styles of art. If you look closely, you will always find a cat (a Groovy Cat) in her paintings. The whimsy of storytelling through paint and texture can be seen whilst bringing about a charm and comfort of an emotional connection.
Lisa Ray is a ‘pandemic painter’ having started painting in March 2020.
