Museum Kids: Build a Toy Rover

April 06, 2024
Cost: FREE
Type of Event: For Families

Coming April 8th is a total eclipse! If you are as excited as we are come out to the Museum and celebrate with us by making craft rovers! Solar eclipses happen when earth’s moon passes between the earth and the sun casting a shadow down on earth across a specific path. Napanee is lucky enough to be on the path of totality meaning the moon will completely block out the sun; this won’t happen in our area again until 2079. To celebrate the moon (the “star” of any solar eclipse) we’re making our own toy Lunar Roving Vehicle to go with the 3 leftover from the Apollo 15, 16, & 17 missions that are still on the moon today. Have fun decorating your rover and creating a pipe cleaner astronaut to go rolling along on earth as if it were on the moon.

Cost: FREE
Ages: For ages 4-12
