Just like last year, I got to kick off my summer with Naturally L&A’s annual Tourism Bus Tour! This is the perfect way to get immersed with some of the local businesses and get to know Lennox & Addington a little better.
We visited 8 locations this year that all had their own unique charm. This tour is very helpful for local business owners as it offers them a better view of Lennox and Addington County to help guide visitors in their travels.
Here’s a glance into our fun-filled day!
The Museum of Lennox and Addington
97 Thomas Street East, Napanee
To start our day of adventures, we took a walk around The Museum of Lennox and Addington. This museum is filled with L&A’s vast history with ever-adapting exhibits so you can keep going back! Each exhibit is unique and spreads across multiple interests and genres. Come take a look around and bask in L&A’s past and see some exciting new displays, including the Must Love Dogs exhibit.
Our Yurt – Your Getaway
647 Park Road, Yarker
If you’re looking for a unique and peaceful night away, Yarker is the place to go! We got to tour two wonderful Airbnb stays operated by proud owner Jennifer Greatrex: Our Yurt – Your Getaway and the Riverboat in the Woods. If you’re not a water lover like me, you’ll be happy to hear the houseboat is not actually in the water. If you do love the water, however, you can take advantage of the complementary kayaks, paddle boards that are available. Check these out for a fun, peaceful getaway.
Ruby’s Acres Alpaca Farm
1000 Lucas Road, Odessa
If you remember anything from my blogs from last year, you’d know how much I love farm animals. Ruby’s Acres Alpaca Farm was the highlight of my day! We got to go into the alpacas’ pen and interact with them up-close. The farm offers educational tours of the animals, and they have products made from alpaca fiber available for purchase. Come visit Ruby’s Acres to meet the sweet alpacas!
Bath Museum
434 Main Street, Bath
Filled with artifacts from the village of Bath’s storied past, the Bath Museum is a wonderful place for history buffs to visit! We soaked up knowledge and immersed ourselves in some of this charming community’s unique story. There are lots of interesting treasures to be seen. Take a trip to the beautiful town of Bath and learn about its history!
Loyalist Trading Co.
8682 Loyalist Parkway, Conway
Another highlight of my day was seeing the famous goats on the roof at The Loyalist Trading Co. Not only does this location have goats, but they have a wide selection of local goodies inside the shop! We got to look around and listen to the goats stomping above us. Stop by and experience this fun attraction for yourself!
Wynn Farms Strawberry Fields
9592 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
Wynn Farms really does it all – flowers, apples, pumpkins, and now strawberries! We got to see the Wynn Farms Strawberry Fields before the start of the season, and now I can’t wait for the pick-your-own season to begin. Before we walked over to the vast strawberry field, we were given delicious, freshly-smashed lemonade that will be available for purchase when you visit. Keep an eye open for the start of the season!
Bergeron Estate Winery & Cider Company
9656 Loyalist Parkway, Adolphustown
For lunch, we stopped in at Bergeron Estate Winery for some delicious gourmet pizzas. As a huge pizza fan, I think it’s safe to say this was some of the best I’ve tried. There were wines and cider available as well that our passengers enjoyed alongside their meals. Take a trip over and try some pizza and wine for yourself!
The Hive and Hearthstone
225 South Shore Road, Greater Napanee
To end off an exciting and eventful day, we stopped by the Hive and Hearthstone. Here they offer wood-fired artisanal sourdough bread on Saturdays and honey produced by their own ‘sugar fairies’! We were given samples of all their unique and delicious honey flavours, from spicy to chai. There are beeswax candles and other bee-themed products for sale that are great for gifts, or to treat yourself to! Make sure to add this stop to your summer itinerary!
After getting a taste of what Lennox and Addington County has to offer, I’m even more excited to get back into exploring and I highly encourage you to do the same! Thank you to the wonderful businesses who welcomed us, and those who came along with us for the ride!
