Stargazing experience at the Dark Sky Viewing Area
These days, it’s not an easy task to find a patch of clear night sky that’s not obstructed by light pollution. Luckily the L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area is ready to wow you with incredible, clear views. This spot is the most southerly point in Ontario that offers a night sky experience very similar to what was available more than 100 years ago. With ample parking and a large concrete pad for camera or telescope setup, Dark Sky is perfect for anyone looking to observe the natural wonder of the stars.
DAY 2
Head to Loyalist Township to experience the communities of Bath & Amherst Island.

Get a head start on your day with a stop at The Lodge Coffee House in Bath. Cassandra and her crew will delight your taste buds with coffee, lattes, cappuccino and other amazing beverage creations. Their lunch menu, consisting of soups, salads and artisan sandwiches, is equally mouth-watering. And their from-scratch baked goods are spectacular. Long story short: it’s all good. Very very good. Like really.

Head over to Amherst Island and explore the countryside on your way to Topsy Farms. The amazing crew at Topsy Farms sell a variety of 100% Canadian, soft-wool products, including blankets, bedding, handmade items, yarn and crafting supplies. Check out a large selection of offerings available for purchase on their website, or better yet, take the ferry over and explore their wonderful Wool Shed.

While exploring the island, be sure to stop in and grab a bite to eat from The Back Kitchen in Stella. Staff from this cute restaurant serve up a delicious assortment of menu items. Don’t miss Fish Friday, Donut Saturday (you’ve gotta try the spectacular S’mores donut) and Milkshake Sunday.

A popular spot for both locals and visitors, Loretta, Tammy and the whole crew serve up delicious classic breakfasts, omelettes, pancakes, French toast and more! Their lunch items include a variety soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Don’t forget the butter tart for dessert!
Guided farm experience at Barking Goat Farms in Centreville
Book a tour at Barking Goat Farms in Centreville and snuggle a goat, meet a donkey and learn about chickens! Deborah or Brent will introduce you to all the animals at this fun and interactive farm… from their rooster Scooby Roo to Buddy, the goat that thinks he’s a dog.
Lunch at Devon Café in Tamworth
You’re in good company at Devon Cafe & Five Corners Craft in Tamworth. Owners Marg and Brian will help brighten your day at the café with some homemade goodness. We can personally vouch for every item on their menu. And you’re missing out if you don’t try one (or two) of Marg’s famous butter tarts.
Day pass to Bon Echo Provincial Park
A day pass to Bon Echo Provincial Park is like a ticket to paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. This wonderful provincial park is best known for the majestic Mazinaw Rock, but there is so much more to see and do. Swim at the beach, rent a canoe, take a boat tour along the face of Mazinaw Rock, hike a trail or fish the shoreline!
